Murphy gives me a scare
Gary has been working late and coming home after dark, so I have been doing the evening chores. Chores are easier to do when it is light out. :) Usually when I am late, Murphy the turkey will wait for me at the basement door. He gets carried to his roost nightly. There are some nights where he will roost on the woodpile, or even another coop, but usually he is right there by the door.
Not tonight.
I spent almost an hour looking for him. I went through the batteries of 2 lights. I even looked on the roof -- Luke the turkey roosted there once -- but no Murphy.
Although it is turkey season I knew Murphy was home when I got home, so I was not worried about that. My biggest worry was the rainfall that night, and coyotes.
Finally! I found him way on the other side of the pond, laying down with the ducks.
