Bring a kid to work day
What could I do? This goat needs to be fed every 3-ish hours. Gary can't exactly bring her to a construction site ;-)
Things went well. I was afraid she would be loud and bothersome to other folks. They tell me she wasn't. :-D A coworker put pictures of today on his website.
When I got home from work, we tried putting her together with her mama. She was allowed to nurse for a little bit but mama was not too thrilled. She was not violent as she had been, but still not accepting.
Tonight after her bottle the kid was very very active. She is walking well, and follows me everywhere. I sure hope she is quiet and well-behaved tomorrow.
In other news we are due for 14" snow by tomorrow. Sarah the goat is in the barn and didn't eat her grain. Now pregnant goat + snowstorm = kids 98% of the time. Sarah not eating grain is like the pope not saying mass, restrictor plates in NASCAR, Michael Jackson and -- well it's just not right! So is Sarah trying to tell us something?

Posted to GoatsIlove how big and chunky that little doeling is :) Sounds like her mom is getting a bit better- are you milking her to keep her supply up just in case she does get better with baby?

Posted to GoatsOh yes! I milk her every day so I have milk to give to baby. I have baby started on milk replacer now and am starting to intorduce solid foods. Ma will go back out to pasture soon.
