Surprise babies

One of the hens has been sitting on eggs. The babies finally hatched last evening. Since she was stepping on them and still has eggs to go, I removed them and placed them in a .. boot box! All of the totes I used to brood chicks this year have been repurposed. I will scrub one down and use that for the babies. Their first couple days are usually pretty quiet and they only concentrate on learning how to eat, drink and walk.
