They're holding out on me 2006
Every year after suspecting the hens are laying elsewhere, it seems I have a post where I find a cache of eggs.
Today was no different.
And here is one hen who has decided to sit on her eggs - in the crates of potatoes we didn't plant this year.
I also found Heather the turkey hen sitting on eggs in the garden. I knew she was sitting somewhere as I saw her only in the morning at breakfast time and I knew she was brooding somewhere. While I weeded in the garden today, she burst out of hiding with a series of yelps, and took off in flight down the hill for lunch. Such dramatics!
