The past couple of days have seen temps far south of 0 at night, not too far above during the day. It’s cold. Frozen water bowls are not the only problem.
Despite the cold, the daytime hours are getting longer and the chickens are starting to lay again. The young pullets are laying eggs for the first time (as pictured here). Unfortunately it’s so cold that the eggs freeze before I have a chance to get them.
Next week temps should slowly creep up so I am hoping I have a chance to collect some usable (and sellable!) eggs.

ours have all been frozen and cracked this week too. They thaw out okay and we just use them up first.
