This morning I walked around, checking on everyone as I do, and noticed nothing unusual. I opened the chicken coop doors and happened to look again out at the goats and saw Susan had moved down to a far corner of the pasture. No one ever goes there! What was she doing?
When I saw her lay down, legs sprawled, I was very curious. Goats never do that either! I ran over and by the time I got there, she had half a kid hanging out of her! A boy. I never even knew she was expecting. The birth went without incident and he was on his feet and ate breakfast in about 30 minutes.
The kids born to Apple back in January are growing quickly aren’t they?
Everyone was excited and curious about the new baby. Sheep Matty and Mae ran over several times to give him a sniff (I think they kept thinking he was something new to eat!); Hank the dog paced the fence and whined – he loves babies; and Scurfy and Darth here beamed from the fenceline.

I am so jealous! You have chickens and turkeys, and goats and cattle. It’s my dream to someday have again chickens. I can’t believe I just found your blog. I will be excited to see your blog posts.
Just stumbled upon your blog. I really enjoy it! And I love Murphy….
