Plowed

Finally got the garden plowed tonight. It has been So. WET! But 5 days of sun and no rain dried out the soil so it was ready to plow.

I was in Cayuga County today where they were plowing their fields too. Only their fields are hundreds of acres large and their tractors are as big as houses and cost just as much. If I was thinking I would have taken some pictures, there were more tractors on the roads than cars. But I was entranced with the smell of fresh earth.

We’ll just turn over our soil with a one bottom (our two bottom is old and weak) and disc it after. I intend on trying some raised beds this year to combat our clay soil which holds on to every rain shower. Stay tuned!
